Hi, all!  I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up the website like I promised.. as usual, I'm crazy busy these days.  I'm also currently sick as a dog and haven't been able to do much of anything.  But the updates are as follows (and I promise that a new Aliyah Article and a new Journal Entry will soon follow with further elaborations of all of this)...

I have received interviews from all three of the schools I applied to for graduate school -- (and pay attention to this, there will be a test later) Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beersheva, and University of Haifa in (you guessed it) Haifa.  I am very pleased with the outcomes so far.. I have no idea if I'll actually get in anywhere, but to receive interviews for the most difficult program at the most prestigious colleges in the country is very exciting.  Even I am proud of myself!

I had my interview at Haifa two days ago (coughing and sniffling the whole time), and I am now waiting to hear if I made it to the second round of interviews.  Yes, it's quite a grueling process.  My interview with Hebrew U. is next week, and Ben Gurion has just informed me that I don't even require an interview.  This is good and bad news -- it means I've been in such good communication with all the profs there that they know me very well, but it also means that they know about dilemmas I have been having with certain decisions, and they have a lot more inside information about me than the average interviewer would.  This will probably mean that I will be offered a place in the social psychology program rather than clinical, and this has pros and cons, but I think it will be a very good fit for me.. so I'm leaning towards moving to the desert for the next 5-7 years of my life, woohoo!  I've also been offered a very exciting job there as well, so it looks like all the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place nicely.

I also just had my abstract accepted for Yad Vashem's upcoming international conference entitled, "Teaching the Holocaust."  This means I will be leading a 90-minute workshop on how to listen to survivor testimony and how to ask the right questions, etc.  I am very excited about this -- it's a real opportunity to start changing the way people think about Holocaust narratives.. changing the way IMPORTANT people think, nonetheless. (Not just you average Joe-Shmoes out there!) :)

So things are coming along nicely over here.. I'll continue to keep you all posted.. and again, please forgive me for my horribly inadequate email response time.  I love you all and think of you very often.. really. :)

(By the way, don't worry, the pictures are still here -- they've just been moved to the "PICTURES" area, and a few have been added, so enjoy.  This first page will continue to be used for updates and to let you know new stuff has been added, etc.)
